Emerson Collective’s 2024 Climate Science Fair is a free public event that will welcome scientists, farmers, foodies, artists, thinkers, nature lovers, and the curious of all ages to the High Line in NYC this September 21-23, 2024. We’re coming together to show that big, bold, optimistic climate ideas are not just possible, but already making a difference. Over the course of three days, guests will be able to attend workshops, interactive exhibits, and more–all with the goal of informing and inspiring guests to discover their inner citizen scientists.

This event will also mark the public launch of the SubjectToClimate New York Climate Education Hub, a new platform designed to support and enhance climate education statewide.

Cultural Ecologies on the water: Shifting Haze 

A new music concert from Unheard of Ensemble and Gowanus Dredgers.

Unheard-of Ensemble, in collaboration with the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club, features world premieres and cutting edge music by artists exploring climate change, race, technology’s impact on our mental health, and feminism presented in a setting that brings people closer together in an open and adventurous way. The audience will be able to attend the performance either via canoe (reserved in advance via donation to the Dredgers), sitting on one of the Dredgers’ new docks, or on shore via an accessible location. Each performance opens with a talk given by members of the Dredgers about their work in the Canal.

Featuring new composers and special guest band Fox Indigo.

The Future of Energy! Ferry Talk

Join us for our last Ferry talk with Jk Canepa and Anna Tsomo

Join us for a Ferry talk with longtime activist JK Canepa and Youth organizer and educator Anna Tsomo as we talk about better ways for our energy, in action and in policy.

This tour begins at the Ferry terminal at Corlears Hook in the LES and travels on the water to Governors Island, where we'll be joined by our closing program and ritual in collaboration with the American Indian Community House, Next Epoch Seed Library and Sacred Space.
