12 themes. 12 Organizations.
A way to support them all.
Each month we pick a different theme vital to the health ourselves, the earth and each other. We then highlight an organization doing extraordinary work within that theme and directly support them. Each month you'll learn about a different organization and how to get more connected to them and their work.
Just as in a traditional CSA, where you support small farms before their harvest season to be able to sustain their operations throughout the year, in our Community Supported Action, you are sustaining the vital work of organizations looking at root causes, reimagining systems and taking action. The return here isn’t a box of vegetables– it’s something maybe even more valuable. It’s directly the work that feeds all of us, whether we know it or not.
Don't just choose one thing to give to. Give to all of it.
Sign up monthly or give once– with any amount.
A MONTHLY COMMUNITY SUPPORTED ACTION
For the fire. For the future.
It's all connected.
July's CSAction Organization
From our coats to the roofs above our heads, shelter holds and houses us. And when we think of shelter we usually think of sheltering us from harm. But that’s not always found in our homes, or especially in traditional ‘shelters.’ CHiPS, (Community Help in Park Slope) takes this into account through their Frances Residence Homes for new and expectant mothers. Besides being a full-service soup kitchen and pantry for the community, their Residence houses three mothers and their infants and one mother-to-be. Each mother arrives at their door with nothing but two bags of luggage and dreams of a better life for her child. Residents receive pre-and post-natal care, counseling services, around-the-clock assistance, and guidance with their search for work and permanent housing.
