Cultural Ecologies on the water: Shifting Haze

A new music concert from Unheard of Ensemble and Gowanus Dredgers.

Unheard-of Ensemble, in collaboration with the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club, features world premieres and cutting edge music by artists exploring climate change, race, technology’s impact on our mental health, and feminism presented in a setting that brings people closer together in an open and adventurous way. The audience will be able to attend the performance either via canoe (reserved in advance via donation to the Dredgers), sitting on one of the Dredgers’ new docks, or on shore via an accessible location. Each performance opens with a talk given by members of the Dredgers about their work in the Canal.

Featuring new composers and special guest band Fox Indigo.

ROOTING FOR THE WORK
ON THE GROUND

Climate solutions can be romantic, but if created in silos or think-tanks not rooted in communities, they won’t solve anything.

Moving across the city, we’re partnering with community organizations, businesses, artists, teachers, activists and thinkers who are working to change the climate.

In this particular and crucial time – ten years out from Sandy–  Imagined Futures looks to galvanize, high-five and resource people and projects guiding us towards the future we owe to the earth… and each other.
